Holy moly! As a continental knitter, I sincerely thought I would never get the beautiful tension I so desired. But with this course, I've learned how to knit on the public side without turning and effectively improved my tension. I'm so grateful for this course and look forward to taking more courses. Also, the increase and decrease section as well as the short-row section were definitely a bonus.

Patty does a fantastic job of providing clear information, showing examples of how to do things, and providing time to practice - all in a wonderfully upbeat environment. I've been a good knitter for over ten years, but these techniques are going to help me become a great knitter!

I can’t say enough positive words about this class. It was exactly what i needed. If your knitting is stunningly perfect, you can skip this class, but for everyone else, you’ll be doing yourself a big favor to sign up. You will learn skills that will make you wonder why no one ever taught you this before.

This course was EXACTLY what I was hoping it would be, and I'll be recommending it to every knitter I know! For a couple months now I've been attempting to get my knit gauge to loosen up and match my purl gauge (I knit Portuguese style) but I've had a difficult time finding a resource that explained the mechanics of what was going on. "Just loosen up" (advice from elsewhere) resulted in everything getting looser, but the knit gauge still being tighter than my purl gauge. This class, along with Patty's "Improve Your Knitting Alternative Methods and Styles" class, gave me the crucial information I was missing, and I couldn't be happier. The information about stitch manipulation, economy of movement, ergonomics, etc. was also incredibly valuable. It's going to take a while to re-train my hands but I really feel empowered by the information Patty provided, and the attitude she encouraged us to adopt. Some peoples knitting improved during the lecture - mine didn't, but it's just taken me a couple days of practice to catch up! It's also going to be SO valuable that I'll be able to re-watch the videos, because I know that just 1 pass wasn't enough to absorb everything. I really appreciate that Patty has set it up like that. I really cannot recommend this class enough!

Patty is an excellent teacher! Unlike some of my classmates, the improvement in my knitting wasn't immediate--I had to practice for quite a while on my own, after completing the course--but I definitely learned a lot from the Build a Better Fabric course! I have been using Patty's tips and methods to practice, and am now having improvement, plus some "A-hah!" moments. Patty is very good at giving clear explanations and helping students grasp the knitting concepts behind each style or technique, so you can thoroughly understand how it works and why it works--and solve related future problems on your own. I highly recommend Patty as a teacher!

One of the issues with my knitting is my 'rowing out'. I knit continental and have inconsistent purls. Patty's excellent explanations of what causes this and how to correct it have been a game changer in my knitting - in only 1 hour. By far she is one of the best teachers I have experienced in knitting as well as in other areas. Her course is organised, the explanations are clear, she injects humor throughout to keep it fun - a great educational experience. I am so happy I found her courses and will certainly take more.

This course was awesome. Patty explains the why not just the how to making even knit stitches. I have been knitting for years but have been a very loose and uneven knitter and learned several ways to improve my technique. Thank you Patty
