Tech Tips for Live Class

What are the technical specifications to participate? 

All you need is a smartphone, or tablet or a computer and internet connection. 


For smartphones and tablets, the Zoom app is available in the app store of your choice and tech specifications can be found here. For desktop computer specifications, click here; you may need to download the app prior to your first class. We suggest testing your device with Zoom prior to your first class by clicking the button below. Please note the new version of Zoom is optimized for newer devices, if you have an older device you may not see the entire shared screen.

We also suggest having a strong internet connection so the video does not buffer. Zoom suggest you have at least 2 MPBS upload and download speed from your internet service provider.

For best Zoom experience

- Turn off anything that runs in the background on your computer (automatic back up programs, virus scanning)

- Make sure nobody else is streaming or using the wifi

- If your internet is slow, try joining the meeting from your local library.

  • Q: Do I need to be on camera?

    A: That’s up to you. You can learn a ton just by watching.

  • Q: Do I need to have a mic?

    A: You can have your mic on to ask questions, or you can type your questions.

  • Q: I’m fairly new to knitting, or I’ve been knitting for years, will this class help?

    A: Whether you’ve just started knitting or have been knitting for years, I promise you, I can help you improve.

  • Q: Will I be able to keep the download to review later?

    A: You bet! The recording will be added to this course page and you'll be able to watch it again, and even download it.

  • Q: What If I need to Cancel?

    A: You can cancel up to 7 days before the class for a full refund (minus the registration fee), You can cancel up to 72 hrs before the class for a class credit, There are no refunds if you cancel less than 72 hrs before the class, unless your spot can be filled. All refunds are minus $2.00 registration fee
